As I look through the thread, I guess we all agree that Japanese vidya has superior music?

Pretty much. Japanese music tends to be more melodic. Western vidya music is usually more atmospheric (not to say that there aren't exceptions, like Akira Yamaoka and such). Anyhow, to commemorate Catherine being released in less than a week, we need more Shoji Meguro in this bitch.

I've always loved the music in the Paper Mario series, but the Thousand Year Door had some of the best.

So, for today, I found myself interested in the pieces from Star Fox for SNES. While I've never owned a SNES, I always find myself stumbling in these masterpieces.

Star Fox OST, T32: Course clear (Band version)

Star Fox SNES Music - Controls

Personal favorite among the music. So catchy. Also, dat SMB3 Battle Theme in the beginning.

Star Fox SNES Music - Slot Machine

Naoshi Mizuta is easily one of the most underrated composers out there. And he deserves more recognition.

I'm a huge Assassins Creed fan.  The lore, the history, the gameplay, it's all so satisfying to me.  It may be of note that historical fiction and alternate reality are some of my favorite genres.  Anywho, the AC games have simple but great music.

Assassin's Creed 2 OST - Track 01 - Earth

Assassin's Creed 2 OST - Track 02 - Venice Rooftops

Assassin's Creed 2 OST - Track 03 - Ezio's Family

The first 3 tracks from the OST of the second game.

Protip: play all three at the same time in sync.
